How is it normally plugged in? Most TV systems that use Fiber or DSL just plug the box into an ethernet switch/router, and even works over Wifi (SOMETIMES). If the COAX cable is used as G.hn (like PNA and Powerline Ethernet) , then yeah you can probably use anything for the network connection.

Xfinity uses coax to connect your cable box and modem, there's no way around it, unfortunately.

 

There ARE FTTH offerings, but they're scarcely implemented and extremely expensive. There are also ethernet and WiFi TV boxes but they need to be fed from the main coax TV box.

Yes. They have an app for some streaming devices like Roku. I don’t think on demand will work, but it’s a solution. As long as you have their internet services. Also if you have HD service the box should come with HDMI enabled, assuming by no coax you mean the TV has no coax. 

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
