Blurry when putting my monitor from 250hz to 144hz

DoZe

My Fortnite Gameplay looks blurry when I put my hertz down from 244hz to 144hz

Does someone know why?

Thank you!

You can start by sharing what's your monitor model and your pc setup ?

Screenshots? Blurry is too vague and subjective.

Is it only blurry for motion?

Motion blur is caused by pixel transition speed aka pixel response aka response time.

Pixel transition speed is generally tied to frequency. As such while ur monitor may have a fast pixel response at 240hz, that speed is reduced as u lower the frequency.

At 144hz the pixel transition speeds must be noticeably slower, thus ur noticing blurring /ghosting.

Fix, run at 240hz.

Unfortunately i can see no proper reviews of this monitor. All those 'so called' reviews that come up are nothing more than overviews of the manufacturer specs. No testing with numerical results done. As such we cant say for sure how much slower the pixel response is at 144hz, nor what it really is to begin with at 240hz, as i can guarantee you it isnt actually 1ms like the specs suggest.
