Custom AIO computer.

My wife doesn't like the look of a tower and just wants to see a monitor on the desk. The only issue is that the market for that is going to be running laptop spec parts or worse. So what I want to put together for her is a monitor with a shroud on the back that covers all of the desktop size parts. I know there's the Eluktronics 34" 1440p, but that's $1000 US.

I could do a setup like Linus has where the PC is in a different room or in the desk or something, but that's not the fun of the challenge! And no, I don't want to make it a small form factor build. I want it kick the shit out my computer's.

why not? ITX PCs can be tiny titans, nothing really stopping you from putting a Ryzen 7 3700X with a 2080 ti in a small form factor case and making a PC capable of pushing some pretty mad frames

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

The point of the build is that every component fits on the back of the monitor under the shroud. No extra boxes.

Honestly, the Eluktronics really isn't that bad of a deal. I'd probably just go with that.

I don't understand the challenge. Are you asking people to design the shroud? Because AFAIK such a thing does not exist.

The challenge here is not spending $1000 on that case if there's another option. That is a bit of a drop for this computer.

Just get a slimmer ITX case and pretend it's mounted to the back of monitor?

Or buy a Thermaltake P1 case and mount it to the wall

an R7 3700X + RX 5700/XT is going to be the best value hardware wise anyways.

Just don't mount it flush to the wall so it can actually get some airflow unlike this image I think.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

It has to pass the wife aesthetic and usability test. Those look ugly as sin and strapping a case on a vesa mount is still pretty ugly. Not visible is the goal.

Like I want the back of the monitor to look like this without the shroud on.

I'm also confused by this post , he basically wants US to design the computer for him somehow

somehow make it invisible

somehow use desktop parts

somehow not use laptop parts

and i assume it's not allowed to be loud as hell even though were cramming desktop parts into a monitor shell

oh and the wife has to clear it as being ok despite none of us knowing what she likes or wants visually

oh and do it for free out of the kindness of your hearts too

No, I'm seeing if anyone has any other aio cases that they've come across that would fit the style, but not break the bank at $1000

Pay to play, or deal with it. You want an AIO form factor with desktop performance, but you're balking at having to spend money. Niche products for niche needs do not come cheap.

Especially a niche that requires cramming parts into tight spaces that it really shouldn't be crammed into, for a multitude of different reasons (cooling being the main one)

A wall-mounted rig with a large monitor obscuring it from view the best compromise I guess, but the fella's wife has unrealistic expectations of a clean setup. Buy an AIO PC, use only wireless peripherals then I guess, doesn't get much cleaner than that. ?‍♂️
