Yeah, even if you run into a GPU bottleneck it is worth getting the R5 3600.

Hi

i have a GTX 1070 and want to upgrade CPU is there much of an FPS difference between 3600 and 3400g?

GPU: RTX 3060Ti 8GB

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600

RAM: 32GB DDR4 3200MHz

Mobo: B450M-K

I would say so. However, your signature says "8gb ddr4 2100mhz" which i'm assuming is a single dimm. I would first invest in faster dual channel ram, like ddr4 3000-3600mhz before upgrading to the 3600. Note, that if you get 3600 mhz with your 3400g, you'll probably need to run it at a slower speed.

if its dual channel then it should be fine. there's an LMG video on overclocking Ryzen 3000 cpu's that showed they were able to overclock the infinity fabric on slower ram to get the cpu working at near faster ram speeds. So, you should be fine.

Yes a whole lot because the 3400G is a quadcore based on Zen + (Ryzen 2000 series architecture) while the 3600 is an hexacore based on Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000 series architecutre).

What is your budget for the upgrades?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

What motherboard? just needs to have a decent VRM with a decently sized heatsink.

and the bios needs to be updated for the 3600 series, otherwise you have to borrow a CPU.

it depends on your performance target. If you're shooting for 60 fps and are already getting consistent 60 fps, then upgrading would not help. Like noted before, higher frequency ram would also yield a benefit.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

The gaming plus has USB bios flashing for recovery, and a bigger VRM heatsink so you don't have to worry about stressing your VRM.

For the RAM you're going to want 16gbs of 3200mhz CL14-16 or 3600mhz CL16

something like that, CL14 is usually way more expensive though.
