I’ve had my rtx 2070 for six months now and haven’t been overusing it, its always been at low temperatures. I changed to a 2080 as it would commonly freeze onto a blue, white, brown or different colour screens and would have to be fixed by restarting the pc, this would most commonly happen when opening an application, I read about graphics card being broken on certain resolutions and think it was that. How much is my card worth as of now? Does 30% of its original price sound fair? I was thinking it could be used for bitcoin mining, 200$ for an rtx to bitcoin would be a killer deal

RTX 2070 is pretty underwhelming, it was arguably the worse value RTX card upon launch... it can't be priced above what you can find a Reference RX5700 nowadays if you ask me.

Also if it is showing issues that could prevent you from selling it altogether.

Why not send it in for repairs before you sell it? Asus owes you an RMA for a busted product.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Manufacturer warranty of only 6 months? Unheard of, what model is it? You bought it new correct?

Didn't realize the EU got a year less than the US.  o.O

I already edited my post, i forgot the "minimum". The minimum warranty for electronics must be 2 years, but it can be longer, as you said yourself, EVGA provides one more year than needed.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

thats cool ill check and hopefully get it refurbished and sold

Bruh if you got it directly from amazon (sold and shipped by amazon), just send it back because it is faulty, you will receive all your money back, and use that money to buy a 2080.

No need to sell it yourself.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

If it is able to be sold (functioning properly) then it might be a pretty good deal for someone.  Best option might be to take advantage of warranty if that is a possibility.

While the price/performance was TERRIBLE before, now that the 2070 cards you can find new or refurbished out there are discounted (either due to being used like yours or just old stock people are getting rid of) it actually sits in a PERFORMANCE sweet spot.

2070 gives you the benefit of:

High refresh 1080p (most games)

Super high refresh for esports titles

Ability to actually do ray tracing at 1080p 60fps (cough cough, looking at you RTX 2060).  This was my gripe about RTX 2060, as it "could do" RTX, but never at any frame rate anyone would want to play at

Ability to do 1440p at reasonable to good rates (60fps)

It sits in the perfect 1080p performance spot, as long as the price is right.  If you had a good price on it, you should be able to move that thing.  I bought my FE version after the 2070S was released because the price plummeted and put it actually where it should have been in the first place (right around 400$).  If you price it reasonably (and it works) certainly you should be able to move it.

El Zoido:  9900k + RTX 4090 / 32 gb 3600mHz RAM / z390 Aorus Master

The Box:  3900x + RTX 3080 /  32 gb 3000mHz RAM / B550 MSI mortar

I have a RTX 2070 MSI Duke overclocked and it runs everything i have thrown at it for 1440p ~144hz rarely see dips below 100 fps. Only exception is games with RTX like battlefield V when running RTX it drops into the 60-80 fps range

It would depend on the settings.  If you have ultra settings you will see dips at 1440p with a 2070.  My 2080ti strix doesnt even give me consistent 165 hz on apex legends.  I do keep everything on ultra though, with wide field.  Many dips to the 110-120 realm depending on whats happening.  Not the end of the world, but it is the beastiest of cards and it basically takes that to run high refresh (consistently, at ultra) at 1440p.

Out of my curiosity I googled apex 1440p 2070 and that guy on max settings was getting around 80fps.  Nothing to sneeze at, but certainly cant hold 144 hz though.

I play apex legends too, on my 2070 I have all the settings cranked and am usually at the 120+fps. only in heavy action points will it dip and even then i rarely see the fps counter dip into the 90's usually in normal combat i will drop to 110ish

admittedly I have better cooling and a pretty significant overclock. I chose the MSI duke because ti came with the binned 400-A chips which overclock much better.
