Questions from a newbie

Which system would be faster in terms of gaming performance and processing power:

• Intel Core i3-7100U paired with an MX150
• Intel Core i3-8145U paired with an MX230
• AMD Ryzen 5 2500U with Vega 8 graphics

Let's say these have 8GB of RAM each.

 

Please note that I'm in a tight budget and cannot afford more than $600.

for performance i would said MX150. MX230 then Vega 8 which is roughly equal to MX130.

but what kind of MX150 there are two version. 25Watt and 15 Watt.

I haven't chose the games I'd start playing but the laptops are, in order:

• Acer Aspire E 14 (E5-476G-38MH)
• ASUS Laptop 14 X409FJ-HT832T
• ASUS Vivobook 15 X505ZA-EJ505T

wouldnt recommend any of that for gaming at all...

 

The Acer Nitro 5 with an i5-8300H and GTX 1050 costs just over 600USD, much better of a value and performance.

 

But do you really need a laptop? for that price if you want to game a budget desktop would be much better.

exactly what im thinking, IMO the MX GPU series is not good for gaming, the acer nitro series just costs a little bit more and will actually be able to play most games smoothly.

MX is for productivity. Acer Nitro Get you at least 1050 can do Esport game smooth

Laptop performance largely depends on the thermal performance of the device and the power settings the manufacturer choose to use. So it is often hard to make general statements. But in short: They all suck
