$450 Upgrade

General_Led

So I have $450 to spend and upgrade my computer. My current rig is as follows: FX-6300 | Sapphire 7870 GHz edition(one of the fans is out)  |  samsung evo 120gb   |  corsair cx500w  |  1tb toshiba HDD | Gigabyte 970a-ds3(crossfire ready)  |  8gb Patriot Ram  |  EDIT:Hyper 212 plus

So I thought about crossfiring but then I realized how expensive amd cards are. So now I'm thinking about buying a MSI 770 and a Corsair CX750m. 750w because just for the future.

And also is this PSU any good? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438007

If you're okay with the current gaming performance, I'd get a ssd and perhaps upgrade your peripherals instead.

I already have top of the line keyboard, mouse, microphone and so on. And I already have a 120gb samsung evo.

In that case, just get a 770 and skip the new psu.

I don't think my current 500w PSU can handle it.

If you don't mind returns/refurbished, EVGA I would say once every 2-3 weeks has stock of cards (they state on Facebook when they have them it. They carry a one year warranty and 770 can be had for around $270. 500W can handle it.

Would a Hyper 212 plus be enough to oc some?

Do you really need to upgrade or do you just want to?

Its a bit of both. My 7870 isn't doing to well and I also recently go a bit of money so i figured why not.

A 212 plus should get you to 4.2-4.3GHz. A water cooler like a CM 240M should get you to 4.8-4.9GHz.
