Going on vacation and want a mouse for my laptop because I'm pretty sure the people I'm sharing with don't know how to use the trackball I am currently using. How bad is bluetooth in a mouse if you're not gaming? Or should I just try to find a used logitech one without a receiver at goodwill because I have a spare receiver I could pair it too?

I have a Microsoft Arc Touch Bluetooth mouse that works fairly reliably, depending on the particular laptop I'm using it with, and runs off 2 AAA batteries. I just use rechargeables (and pack a spare set in my shoulder bag or backpack) but don't often find I need to charge 'em at all even on long trips.

unless you buy a super cheap mouse, i doubt you'll be able to tell the difference between "wireless" and bluetooth

Other than the fact that you now have an extra USB port free on your laptop :)

Id recomend bluetooth if not gaming.

im currently using the bluetooth feature on my mx master 2s and the only difference is every few hrs it will disconnect (just turn it off than on again) and some small stuttering (to be fair i am playing a fps)

I'm using a t440p i have plenty of usb ports. Though that does sound good. Think I might order that arc that someone recommended. Seems good enough.

My travel mouse is the Corsair Harpoon Wireless.  It's compact, has both Bluetooth and Corsair Slipstream (sub-1ms response), rechargable, and can be used wired while charging.  Not sure what your budget is, but MSRP is $49.99, and you might find deals either at a local retailer or online.  If you have any questions, let me know.

I recently sold a spare computer so I have a little extra money but, don't really want to spend too much. $50 for something that will last forever doesn't seem too bad.

Just an interesting fact: budget oriented Corsair Harpoon Wireless in Lithuania costs 95 euros... Are retailers just greedy or are there some other things at play?
