VPN country choice when torrenting

Hey everyone!

 

So, say you are in a country where torrenting movies and such can actually get you in trouble, so you use a VPN to protect against that (to some extent)

Does it matter which country's server you choose to connect to?

 

For example, if I'm in Norway and use Private Internet Access VPN to torrent movies and such, is it important that I choose a server in a country that doesn't care much about illegal downloads, or do I just choose the server with the best connection (for example Denmark, which also cracks down on illegal downloading) and I'm good?

I couldn't find this question asked anywhere else after multiple searches, so here I am
