So i Was thinking of next gen

CrazieChipmunk

I think i might actually skip this gen and keep my 1050ti till next year when the new gpus launch because rtx will have more value then as well as a 3rd choice in the market  which is intel, i have made this decision because im not going to be gaming that much anyway this year and the games i ahve now my 1050ti runs fine and even on "some" newer games it runs great such as sekiro so i think ill hold out till next year.

Thoughts on my decision

i know but my logic was if another competitor comes in then prices will drop by about 50-60 pounds kinda like what happened with super and navi

The reason why prices dropped is because navi was cheaper with better performance so they had to. I sorta doubt Intel will have anything that is competitive enough to cause AMD or Nvidia to lower their prices. Also I wouldn't hold my breath on next gen. There is no knowing when that will be tbh.

I have only seen big navi on their roadmap which isn't really a new gen.

the ps5 and next xbox will have 8/16 zen 2 cpus and something like a 5700xt in them with DXR support, so there's that too, i'd hold off on all gaming upgrades, because unlike older gen consoles, there's a good chance anything built right now could be...weaker than a 500usd console thats coming out next year (lol)

yes but i would bet that nividia has a 30 series in the works/ready to release plus consoles(ps5) are on the way as well near november so who knows really but im pretty sure there will be and if there isnt ill have even more to spend on like a 2070 s or 2080

Yeah fat chance that will happen. Obviously if you build a computer of a certain cost the console will be more powerful but it isn't going to be stronger than a good gaming desktop.

Most probably refreshes, not ‘next gen’ - probably a couple years

I mean, if 1050ti does everything you want then sure hold on to it. Upgrades that make sense will be the 2060S and 5700(XT) level which is already at a good price imo

1050ti is a beast! You should be able to play Mine Sweeper well into 2025 with that bad boy.
