So i am updating my rig and i have been looking at what cpu to get. now i dont have the best budget and so i was thinking of the 2200g(79.99) or the ryzen 3 1200(59.99) is the 2200g worth it over the 1200 or would i be better off buying a used say ryzen 5 1600. (keep in mind any of these are better then my current cpu which is a fx 6300...yeah)

if you need the iGPU then get the 2200G, if not then the 1600 if you're fine with getting used.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

If you already have a graphics card then ya go for an R5 1600

the ASrock Pro4 is the minimum motherboard you'd want to buy assuming it's cheap.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

2200G has a tiny bit better CPU performance as compared to 1200 (nothing significant though). And the IGP is nice to have: later you can sell it easier& one has the possibility of building a rig for browsing-filming (for your elders ). I think either 2200G or even the super-cheap 1600 would do best.

1200 is a great option, if it costs significantly less.

Life is really challenging. I don't always suceed: )

Thank you all for your suggestions i will probability end up getting a 1200 unless i find a decently priced 1600. on a side note for a motherboard something like this asrock b450m pro 4   https://www.amazon.com/ASRock-B450M-PRO4-F-Promontory-Motherboard/dp/B07QXNJHV8/ref=sr_1_6?crid=3E383TV3UGDBH&keywords=asrock+pro4+b450&qid=1567270170&s=gateway&sprefix=ASrock+Pro4+b%2Caps%2C169&sr=8-6

is this a good choice for future upgrade-ability
