Coworker is building a pc for his son to game on, budget is $700ish.

I've suggested

ryzen 2600

B450 Aorus pro wifi $104 clearance

16gb 3000mhz 2x8gb

Evga 500w 80+ psi

But for the gpu he could save money and get an RX570 or spend about $100 more and get a 1660.  Any other cards I'm missing in this range besides maybe an RX580?  He also will need to buy his own case and peripherals, except a monitor.

Does he need storage drives as well?
You can get a (new) r5 2600/Vega 56 system for ~$800 (including a case, storage drives, peripherals, etc.), if he is willing to buy used you can get a Vega 56 for ~$80 less than new bringing it down to almost $700.
Alternatively you could get a 1660 Ti for $716:

why no dark mode?
