So I was folding on my laptop and was getting 500 points a day and all of a sudden, it boosted to 30,000 points a day. Does any body know why this happened ? I have a HP elitebook 2540p with a core i7 vpro

Sounds like it wasn't working properly to begin with.  500 PPD is basically nothing, even a mid-range GPU can turn in over 100k

If you have a passkey inputted into the client then either you hit the 10 work unit minimum before you started getting quick return bonus credit, or the fact that the client isn't reporting bonus correctly.

Check your stats, did this happen after 10 WUs? Do you have a passkey? If both those are yes, than congrats! You now have QRB (Quick Return Bonus) for getting the WUs back quickly.

 

Also 500ppd is insanely low. Might have something to do with it.
