[FIXED] UNABLE TO LOAD WINDOWS INSTALLATION!!!

Cyguns
Go to solution Solved by GoodBytes,

I already had issues with Rufus. It doesn't work great on some USB flash drive. And that is assuming you pick the right options for the system you plan to boot it from.

Use Media Creation Tools to prepare the USB flash drive, it does all the work for you and properly.

If it fails, it is because:

 - Your USB flash drive does not support booting from it.

 - Your USB flash drive needs to be formatted differently.

For UEFI based system before install Windows 10, make sure that, under the UEFI:

  • UEFI mode is enabled
  • CSM (Compatibility Support Module) is disabled (might be tied with the above)

On your way:

  • SATA controller is set to AHCI mode (if no RAID)
  • Secure Boot is enabled
  • Fast Boot is enabled (or set to the highest speed if you have that option)
  • Delay POST is set to 0sec or disabled
  • RAM is set correctly. I don't know the equivalent term for AMD systems, but under Intel, make sure that XMP profile is set to Profile 1, and not Default, to ensure that the RAM is clocked and timed correctly.
  • Boot drive is set to the one that starts with "UEFI:" before the drive name, if you have the option

When you boot from your USB flash drive, make sure you pick "UEFI: <flash drive name>", and not just "<flash drive name>"

If CSM was enabled, or UEFI was disabled (can be called: Legacy, or BIOS Mode):

Please note that the drive, in Windows Setup, needs to have all it partitions deleted, and the drive formatted, so that it converts it from MBR to GPT.

I am having trouble loading the Windows install tool via a USB. When I try to boot to the USB, it just gives me a blue screen and after one minute later, the PC automatically shuts off. Why is this happening and how can I fix this?

It’s Windows 10. I used a the media creation tool to download the ISO. I then used Rufus to make my USB bootable.

Why didn't you just use the Windows tool for USB, and not go thru the other steps?

I have tried but when it got to 100% it just threw and error at me. Using an ISO and Rufus shouldn't make a difference.

The Windows media creation tool will make the USB bootable, you don't need to use any other software.

I start again using the media creation tool only. If you  still get an error try different USB drive and or port.
