Safe temperatures for HDDs ??

Go to solution Solved by 5x5,

That's close to the limits for HDDs. Most are rated for up to 60 degrees centigrade.

Hi guys, i'm living in a very hot country, average day temperature reaches between 37-40, sometimes less, sometimes more, but i'm just telling you the average.

Anyways, i want to ask, my HDD temperature during day times reaches 50 in normal use and 54 under pressure.

My question is, is these temperatures safe for the HDD?

HINT: in night times, where temperature goes lower, its average 45, in winter times 30-35.

Thanks for the information, my current HDD is WD Blue 1TB 7200 RPM, have 2 of this HDD in my case.

My current case is: Cooler Master MB511, i have 2 front fans gives air to the GPU and motherboard and 1 from behind, but doesn't have 1 at bottom front towards the HDDS, should i add one?? or no need?

Air Conditioner?

Yeah, probably i will get one next summer to my room, because i'm currently out of budget so will wait for next summer, at all cases i just wanted to make sure that my HDDs are in safe situation + current summer is about to end after 1 month from now.

As long as they are under 60C they should be ok.
But just remember the gigher the temprature the less life your hardware has.
So make sure you have your data backed up and maybe get some spares, just in case.
