Firefox vs. Chrome?

Hello fellow LTT fans!

I am curious what your thoughts are all on browsers - specifically between Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. I know LTT has done a video on browsers, and that chrome has the larger marketshare. However, people seem to like firefox for the anti-tracking and privacy aspects. What are your thoughts on these two browsers, which do you use and why?

Every since the apple/googlegate, I try not to use chrome unless I absolutely have to. God knows what kind of information they have about users.

Is that the only reason you use Firefox? Or are there any other reasons?

I am sad to say it but google swallowed me in to their matrix. Chrome both on PC and Android.

Edge is also usable now but Chrome is still a better implementation of Chromium than it. But I really dislike the sloppy coding and horrid resource allocation of chrome. Not to mention privacy does not exist with chrome. At all. Anyone claiming otherwise is delusional.

Oh, and Chrome is gonna be killing adblock extensions so mandatory adds soon.

Honestly... both will do what you need them to do so it often falls under preference.

As stated Google completely dominating on market share is a bad thing as they start to dictate all the rules and their rules are often retarded like the imminent end of all adblockers.

So supporting Firefox is nice for the healthiness of the Internet hehe, I've used it ages and I like it so I'll probably stick to Firefox for as long as it's a thing... fun fact whenever I need alternative I just use Edge... I don't even have Chrome installed on any of my systems.

Am curious, what do you think of Waterfox? The spin-off that sorta became its own thing.

Never really used, at most I used Nightly for a while but due to it's very "beta" nature I'd often have my extensions fail due to compatibility what led me to return to vanilla Firefox.

It's like that saying "you don't change a winning team" as long as it works I don't have much incentive to look for the more exotic browsers.

True. Was curious as I am considering switching my home systems to it but am undecided on whether it's worth the effort as a whole.

Firefox also seems to perform better, at least for the majority of the news sites and youtube. It also doesn't suck RAM like a black hole.

I'm using Firefox on my Old Laptop and it defenitely runs and handle webpages smoother and efficiently than chrome can manage. I'm using Kiwi on my Android phone because FF isn't still good on Android yet. Kiwi is based off of Chromium.

(Firefox has a new browser called preview and it is faster than before, But as its name states, It's in preview)
