Seeking laptop for university

Hi all,

so currently I have a MPB early ‘15 model and the battery is starting to crap out on me. It’s lost about 20-25% of its capacity over the years (kinda shitty but ok).

It still works fine for the work I do with it, but doesn’t last battery. Is it worth replacing the battery?

Or I am thinking of getting a new laptop for uni to carry with me.

usage

- trading / charting

- taking notes

- youtube/Netflix

- word (a lot)

- excel

what I would like

- long battery usage

- a nice panel, high res if possible (charts look clearer then to me)

If if anyone has any recommendations then please comment so I can have a look and thanks in advance for any help.

Edit: changed budget

budget is around €750

thanks ☺️

You won't get a good display (high sRGB) for that budget

Min how many hours?

Can consider Thinkpad E series

Or even Ideapads like these:

At that budget I would replace the battery. Your MBP would probably perform better or the same for laptops in that range. Check if your laptops is one of the 2015s being recalled for battery issues.

Desktop

CPU: Ryzen 7 1700 Cooler: Corsiar H60 MOBO: MSI Gaming Pro B350m RAM: 16GB GPU: ASUS ROG GTX 1070 Case: Masterbox Lite 5 Storage: 240GB Samsung 850 EVO, 1TB WD Blue PSU: EVGA 600B

So battery wise 6-8 hours would be preferable. well If i want at leasy 1080P or MPB equivalent resolution, what kind of price range should i be looking at?

would it be worth replcing the battery of the MBP. costs around 160-200EUR iirc at apple themselves

If you can't change your budget, battery replacement will probably be the best option.

Based in Netherlands, but amazon.de or co.uk will both ship too. Within Europe I usually can figure shipping out ?

Not much info on UX431 yet but should be like other Zenbooks - reasonable exterior build quality. However Asus laptops have poor QC+QA in general

so came across this model - apparently it comes free of bloatware. Would this be something you recommend? Does it matter much in laptops ddr3/4?
