Solder vs. Magnetic Tip

I (in my infinite wisdom) used a magnetic tip from ifixit when soldering. Now I have solder that won't come off. Help me, please.

Instructions for frustration management:  

1) Sit at desk.   2) Repeatedly slam forehead against desk.

 

I never said I was smart, just smart enough to be dangerous.

Use a desoldering wick or pump.

The solder should be a lot softer than the tip, which should be hardened. You could file the solder away without making much impression on the tip. You should be able to feel the difference when the file has made it past the solder and reached the hardened tip, it will start to "slide"

Of course the easiest thing to do is probably just clean it like you do a normal soldering iron. That being wipe it on a damp sponge when it's hot.
