Hello,

So I currently have a radeon VII that is a couple of months old and for 5 days I was happily playing VR games on my new index till my system hard crashed a couple of hours ago.

When I boot up the system my screen ( C32hg70 ) fails to initialize. Radeon software when trying to open gives error 126

As per standard I have a 2nd screen running on the onboard gpu.

I did a rollback of the radeon drivers > same issue

I reinstalled radeon drivers > same issue

I boot up the system without a monitor cable plugged into the gpu card > radeon software opens normally

> When plugging in a cable > radeon software crashes and error 126 re-occurs

I reinstalled OS + drivers > same issue

Reseated gpu card > same issue

Tried different pcie slot > same issue

The monitor works fine via onboard gpu.

Unplugged monitor cables from the gpu, booted to OS, connected the VR headset on the card > display works

When loading a game > system hard crash.

So does anyone have an idea to fix it or is it time to call the seller and claim my warranty ?

Edit:

PS: the index is great but yeah the godrays and screendoor effect are real. FOV doesn't bother me at all but mayhap that is due to me having tunnel vision.

Seems like a bad card, I would definitely return it and try and get another GPU, either an RX 5700 XT, or a higher end Nvidia GPU.

Only with the vr headset, I can try tomorrow with a spare + spare cables.

Try that first. You could also hook another PC or video output device to your current monitor (with the same cables) and see if there's any issue with the monitor.

Have you tried disabling your iGPU and running one monitor on the dedicated GPU?

The reseller suggested I contacted MSI for repair since that would be faster.

I've contacted MSI for a repair but so far no response. It might be a better idea to just send it over to the reseller and let them deal with it.

Lovely

The reseller, cyberport located in Germany, is refusing any support and points towards MSI.

They even broke connection and are since not reachable.

When submitting a ticket to the MSI member center I get

500

The server is busy, please try again later.

Anyone has an idea how to get my 700 bucks brick fixed ?

Well I was able to create a ticket with MSI.

They asked me to test it in another system, which I did

I was then told to wait for RMA service and the follow up was.... Contact the reseller, they need to do further troubleshooting and send it in for repair.

FFS The only reason I am in this mess is because the reseller refuses to provide any form of support.

Anyone has any idea on what to do?
