I recently purchased the Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Hero and was wondering whether the board requires me to use an SLI bridge to run two GPUs in SLI? I noticed on the X470 variant a bridge was included in the box with the motherboard, however, for the X570 one is not included, is this because one is not required? FYI this is something new to me I just happen to have two GTX 960s lying around and thought while I wait for my new GPU to arrive I could drop in two cards to see how it runs. Any and all advice is much appreciated :)

SLI always requires a bridge, only Crossfire can be done without it.

While I can't comment on the board, I can say you don't get linear performance improvement these days by running SLI, and in some games, you get worse...

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

Yeah, I've often heard that I'm not really fussed about the perform just wanted to bash around with the settings and learn some new things, to be honest. I'm actually waiting for a Zotac RTX 2080 SUPER AMP Edition, I know the performance is far from 2080 ti standards but it looks amazing and I want something really future proof.

It depends on what type you want to run technically. You dont need a bridge. But I imagine you want to game with them in traditional use, so yes a bridge wouldn’t be needed. They normally come with them if they support it. That way you get the right length.
