So I’m bulding a new pc and I have an old 700W PSU ( Model: CoolerMaster RS-700-ACAB-D3 ) which I thought I could re-use for this build, however I’ve noticed it isn’t certified and in my previous build both the graphics card and mobo fried. So the question is: is this PSU good enough and reliable enough (I don’t know if it caused the parts to stop working in the previous one) for my new build:

MOBO: GIGABYTE X570 AORUS ELITE

CPU: Ryzen R5 3600

GPU: ASUS ROG STRIX 1080Ti

RAM: DDR4 2x8Gb 3600Mhz CAS18 Corsair Vengeance

STORAGE: M.2 860 Evo 500Gb and 2Tb Seagate HDD

CASE: Fractal Design Meshify C

If you think it isn’t appropriate then which PSU would you recommend for the system? Thanks alot :)

The power from the wall is filtered through the power supply - any half-decent unit worth the money will prevent that.

@neila get a new power supply. It's not that expensive - a CX550M grey will be enough.

Hard to come with recommendations if we don't know where you're buying from. The availability and pricing depends on where you buy from, so the recommendations will as well.

Thanks for the reply. Thought as much just needed a second or third opinion. :)

Wall power is irrelevant if the PSU is working normally.

I live in the uk

Lots of good and quiet PSUs for about £80.

The RMx, RMx 2018 or Whisper M should be the best. The Whisper M has multi rail (added protection) and individual PCIe cables (more suited for high power GPUs), while the RMx has a longer warranty (10 vs 7 years). Both are compatible with the same cables, in case you want to buy custom cables.
