Are you not satisfied with the current performance?

When did the BSOD's start? Was it only after the new graphics card?

What is the error? Did it start after installing the new card? Did you DDU the old drivers?

No, cuz I did try with the old GPU I had, and the result is the same, it gives me the blue screen even when doing nothing, so the GPU is not the problem.

Who plays at 1080p

Probably more people than you think. I play games at 1080p on a 55 inch 4k tv at 60hz refresh rate and lock the frames at 60 fps. And what is a render scale? Never seen that option in the games I have played.

This is wow on my display. Render scale is rendering wow at 7680x4038 then scales it to my screen.  This is why I need rtx 2080ti's for wow.

It help improve picture quality.

Basically it's this.  You have a 1080p display.  So if you change it in a game to x4. Your gpu is now render at 3840x2460. It then sizes it to fit on you 1080p screen. Not as good as 4k. But a noticeable difference vs plan Jane 1080p. Some games don't load gpu's enough at 1080p. So this will help load a gpu more so you can boost.  I know people who run 1080 had issues with low frame rates at 1080. Bumped the render scale to 1440 and they got enough load on it to boost it. Guy I know has a 1080p display. Added a 4k custom res. Scaled it down to 1080 to fit his screen. Then plays games with the 4k res and the just scale to his screen.

Hmm, ok, I kind of get it. I don't think anything I play has that option though, just different screen resolutions. I know what you mean about it looking better. I tried some stuff at 4K and you don't need anti aliasing and stuff anymore. The stuff is just sharp, no jagged edges or crap like that. For instance microsoft FSX, it looks like crap unless you go into Nvidia inspector and other things and do a bunch of tweaks. Move up to 4k and it actually looks pretty good. You can't read anything in any of the menus because its so tiny though lol.

Keep in mind, I am not playing on monitor though. Like I said my computer is hooked up to a 55 sharp tv and I am over 6 feet away from it.

Who plays at 1080p. Most games have render scales where you crank it up making the whole  1080p argument pointless. 1080p with a 2x render scale looks much better then normal 1080p. Only reason to run 1080p is if you must stay in the 240hz range.

I play at 1080p and don’t plan on changing it anytime soon. It’s easier on my wallet to get a card for 1080p 144 FPS then it is trying to push a 1440p monitor at 144 FPS. For me personally frame rate trumps resolution playing shooter games.

You really can’t win this battle with me. Not everyone has a huge ego they need to show off online nor does everyone have a ton of disposable money to dump into a computer. I (in person) know a ton of people who use 1080p that value frame rate over resolution.

I could of bought a 1440p or 4K monitor but I can’t justify the costs of the video card to push that resolution at the frame rate I require for my games. 60-75 hz monitors feel sluggish after using 144 hz, there’s no way I can go back to that regardless of how amazing the game looks. I’m busy running around playing the game not site seeing and taking max setting screen shots to show off pics online.

Yeah I can. If you bump up the settings and one of them is resolution scaling or whatever they decide to call it in games your not at 1080p any more.

If you force a higher res in windows you will need to adjust your icon size and or clear text. But I would just stay 1080 for that and bump the games up and let the scale down.

But yeah I agree after going 144 it's hard to go back to anything less. Dapends on the game. Fast games forget about it. Slow games like mmo's it's fine. Some games should be played fast.    But I see people all the time running games at 1080p 60hz on 2080's or 1080ti's not knowing they can improve visuals some times frame rate if the game is not fully loading the GPU with a simple tweak.

I think it depends on what you are doing and the game you are playing. Some games, yes you want that reaction time, especially if you are competing and are really good. Other games are meant to be visually stunning. And other games neither one really matters. Like FSX for instance. No matter what you do you are never going to make it look great, the game and graphics are ancient lol. You can make it look pretty good though. And it simply isn't a game that requires a high frame rate. 30 fps is perfectly usable on it. Also some people, like me, just are not good enough or that competitive that the extra refresh rate and fps even matters. Heck I use controlers on my games. I don't game with a mouse and a keyboard unless I absolutely have no choice. Normal games I am using an xbox controller. Flight games I use a flight stick and throttle. Racing games like project cars I use a wheel and pedals. And I lock all my games at 60 fps because I hate screen tear.
