Urgent help with installing fans

megab2000

Hey so I ordered these fans:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CO-9050072-WW-LL120-Dual-Light/dp/B075VGN4M1/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=ll120&qid=1564143573&s=gateway&sr=8-1

and 3 individual ones.

And coming to plug them all in, the hub that I was given doesnt have any pwm connectors to power the fans. I assumed from what people have said is that was all I need to power all 6 fans (the controller and the lighting node pro).

Will I need to buy the commander pro fan hub to finish this build or am I being stupid about the fans needing the pwm cables plugged in.

My motherboard is the x570 Gaming X mobo so I believe it only has 2 system fan connectors.

These fans have 2 wires coming out of them: RGB Control wire and PWM power cable.

Neither of what you have (Fan Hub and Lighting node pro) will power your fans because they only control RGB. You should've ordered fans without the lighting node, and bought Commander pro instead because it acts as the lighting node pro and a fan hub for 6 fans at the same time.

Main system: Ryzen 7 7800X3D / Asus ROG Strix B650E / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 32GB 6000Mhz / Powercolor RX 7900 XTX Red Devil/ EVGA 750W GQ / NZXT H5 Flow

There are 4 fan headers including cpu_fan1, sys_fan1 / 2, and cpu_opt. Any of them can be used to control your fans through the motherboard settings.

You could use molex-powered PWM fan splitters instead: http://www.akasa.co.uk/update.php?tpl=product/product.detail.tpl&no=181&type=Cables&type_sub=Fan Cable Adapters&model=AK-CBFA03-45

...if you need to run more than 5 fans off of the single PWM fan header you can daisy-chain these splitters.

If your PSU doesn't have molex plugs you can use a SATA to Molex adapter...just make sure you get one with the correct connectors (you can get them going both ways: SATA to molex and molex to SATA (and there's some confusion online as to the naming conventions, so make sure to look at the picture to see that what you're ordering has the sockets you need)).
