Well I have to do my schooling online so any universities with a similar program you can recommend?

And why no to devry from what I heard they have a good reputation

For profit schools like Devry or University of Phoenix  are absolutely terrible.

Look at some local trade schools or community colleges, many offer online programs.

what is wrong with for profit schools?

And none of my. Local colleges offer anything online for computer engineering

The quality is sub par, professors aren't always qualified, credits are non-transferable, and many employers will not hire a Devry or similar for profit college graduate.

For profits basically sell degrees with a ridiculous markup. You get a much better quality and an actual accredited degree by going to a CC then transferring to a University. On top of that, that route will be cheaper than a for profit school.

You can look up yourself why for profit schools are terrible. Here's a short rant

you're sooooooooooo much better off teaching yourself and paying to take tests to get credits than doing for profit schooling.

seriously DO NOT DO IT

I didn't watch this video, but I'm 95% sure of what it's going to say that should hopefully convince you not to.

Private colleges are for single moms and the gullible base of dum dums who think they can fast track their education.

A public university will not only cost you less, but it will offer you a better education overall.

Not working a full time job plus over time is not an option for me, online is the only thing I can do

not working or are working?

i think you might be confused as to how college/university works. you have to apply for financial aid. ( every one gets it ) then from there you pay for your schooling.... thats why you would want to go to your local community college and get your core classes done (save alot of money) and get your associates then from there you go to a university to get your bachlors you dont have to work, and if you want to they have work/study programs.

you should check out this school http://admission.sunyocc.edu/program.aspx?menu=162&collside=203&id=6456 ( its your locoal community college.)

its what your looking into and its expensive at all. your federal aid should cover all tuition costs and what ever you have left over you keep.

Is the bachelor's for computer engineering at devry University online a good program to start a career in the industry

Take classes at a community college and get your A+ certification. It'll help get a better paying job and will cost you a fraction of what you'd pay going to a 4 year school to get the same education

I dont think you will find many (or any) online only engineering degrees that are held in a good light.

to be honest im not a kid either and im going to a university, and i get why online would look very very lucrative but i would suggest going to that college talk to an adviser and tell them your situation they will help you out, i really hope all goes well cuz it was hard for me to take the plunge. but in the end it was worth it

First of all if you are considering an online degree make sure the school is certified in the subject of your choice. If not then you will spend money and time and have nothing, literally.
Second of all NEVER get an engineering degree from an online school even if they are credited in the area, you will find no work the engineering field is very competitive.

Devry is not a good school

If you have to do online look at University of Phoenix, I know people that have degrees from them. Not in Engineering though.

Is there a reason you can't commute to school? It really is better.

work full time 40 hours plus as many over time. Hours as possible plus commute to and from work.

If you can try and make time for school, there is no point in starting it and doing it "on the side"

You want to make it a very high priority, especially if you want to get an engineering degree, not exactly the easiest thing to do.

I can make time to easily do it online I can't make time to probably move. And commute back and forth to an actual school for. Hours a day.

Also I know you guys are trying to help but telling me to go to an actual school over and over again doesn't help me at all I'm just looking for the best possible online degree in computer engineering or computer science or software development

I don't know the full extent of your situation, but I am just saying that going to school will give you such a better education you will be glad you did it. Just give it some thought before making a decision.
