hardware vs software for streaming

i have an i5 8400 and an rx 580 4gb soon uprgrading to an rx 590 8gb should i use hardware or software encoding for streaming i have 16gb corsair lpx 2400 ram also i may buy 16 gb more ram same model

I would use the Intel igpu to do the work.

Nvenc is only with Nvidia GPUs, integrated GPUs and AMD cards do not support Nvenc encoding.

You are using hardware regardless. There's no such thing as "software encoding". So it's between using GPU or CPU. And it really depends what kind of quality you are after. If you have good enough hardware, then either will work just fine. Depending bit on the game. Like MC, CSGO and Battlefield are CPU heavy while many others will be more GPU bound.
