Monitor flashes black screen while gaming

joebacca121

Hi everyone

I just received a new monitor (a ViewSonic VX2758-C-mh) today and it is giving me issues. Whenever I launch a game, the screen goes black after 1-2 seconds. This only happens if the game is in fullscreen or borderless mode, windowed mode runs fine. I have no issues when I connect my PC to my old monitor (an AOC G2260VWQ6) via both HDMI and DP. Only games on Steam (I've tried Cities: Skylines, Domina, and PUBG) cause the problem; full screen video on YouTube and Floatplane play fine. My parts list is below, along with my BIOS version, graphics driver, and what I have tried so far to fix the issue. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

BIOS version: F31

Graphics driver: 19.5.2

So far I have tried a different HDMI cable, different HDMI input, checking for new updates for windows, connecting my old monitor and duplicating displays (the game remains usable on the old monitor, but disappears from the new one), extended the two displays (the game disappears when I move the mouse over it from the old monitor), updated BIOS, rolled back graphics driver (was on version 19.7.2), reinstalled the games and verified local files.

Update:

After more toying about with settings, I have isolated the issue to Freesync. Once I disabled it through Radeon Settings and the monitor's OSD, the issue stopped.

It is a common issue,if you want use freesync you can try to use fps limiter.Set limit to 138fps.In some case it does help.
