Gaming yes, 1080p, I chose disk drive to watch the tv shows I have on dvd

Buy an external disc drive instead that hooks up via usb. Or better yet just buy a blu-ray player and hook it up to your tv or monitor.

You can start with hard drives because SSDs will not improve your gaming experience, the loading time will improve but not the gaming experience, the CPU, GPU and RAM will do that or you but not the type of storage device. If you want a good resolution, invest your money in other parts and on a good monitor. Then in some time, you can exchange your HDD for a large SSD.
