I used polycarb pad for a bit, mouse feet were fine, no damage, but I disliked how the mouse moved on it very much, that's personal preference though, some might like it. Now I use this: https://steelseries.com/gaming-mousepads/qck-hard , it's made from polyethylene, really loving it, price is kinda high, but it's worth it.
