Half of screen now light after using HDMI

Hi all,

i am having an issue, yesterday and the day before i went into a new office and used an LG ultra wide monitor. the first day it was fine, however yesyerday, started getting massive glitched, but only on my laptops display. (pictured below)

but after a while it corrected itself and occasionally it went back, but i wasn't too bothered as was mainly using the LG display. But after a while it had another glitch, which i didnt get a photo of sadly, but the bottom half of the screen was blank, however it looked like the backlight was extremely bright and glowing through to the point of the edges of the screen were white, and went to black as you went away from the edge. but this waqs only on the bottom half of the screen. now i shut down and turned it back on. my only issue is that the bottom half of the screen is slightly lighter than the top, which is wasn't before, and there is a clear line where you can see if effected... do you know what the problem could be or how to fix it.

I saw this video, (linus actually (linked below)) which is a similar problem, but instead its on an external monitor, completely black, and vertical. (attached example pictures below)

Thank you for any support you can give me
