I was reading my local news portal when I came across 50 weirdest driving rules, some of them:

• All Danish drivers have to check under the car before they even start the car. To see if there's a person "underneath".
• Im Russia, you'll be fined if you're driving a dirty car.(Like I have seen only dirty cars there)
• In Spain you must have an extra pair of glasses in the car at all times, even if you're already wearing a pair.
• Alabama, United States, It is legal to drive the wrong way down a one-way street as long as a lantern is attached to the front of your car.
• Alabama, United States, It's illegal for a driver to be blindfolded while operating a vehicle.(I wonder who has tried that...)
• In Alaska it is illegal to tie a dog to the roof of your car.
• In California it's illegal to jump from a car at 65mph.(Aww...)
• In California no unoccupied vehicle may exceed 60mph.
• In San Francisco it's illegal to buff or dry your car with used underwear.
• In California and tennessee shooting animals from your car is illegal unless that animal is a whale.(WTF? Who would hunt a whale from a car?!)
• In Florida if an elephant is tied to a parking meter, the owner or attendant must deposit money in the meter.
• In Sarasota the fine for hitting a pedestrian is 78$(Only 78$?!)
• In Marietta, Georgia, it's illegal to spit from a moving car or bus, but is okay from a moving truck.(lol)
• In Evanston, Illinois, It's unlawful to change clothes while inside a car with the curtains drawn, except during a fire(Who would change clothes during a fire?)
• In Massachusetts you will be ticketed if you drive with a gorilla in the back-seat of your car.(lol)
• In Minnesota it's illegal to cross state lines regardless if you are walking or driving, with a duck on your head.(Ok... This is really weird rule)
• In Michigan if your car breaks down, be aware that sitting in the middle of the street to read a newspaper is illegal.(Why? )
• In Ohio, if you break down and you phone for a cab, you will be ticketed of you opt to ride on the cab's roof.
• In Oklahome it's considered illegal to read a comic book while driving.
• In Denver, Colorado, it's illegal to drive a black car on sundays.
• In Georgia it's illegal to drive trough playgrounds.(The person who tried it...)
• In Missoure it's illegal to honk the horn of someone else's car.(How do you even do it?)
• In Connecticut it's illegal to speed on bicycle(going over 65mph).(Thats a bit hard)
• In Maine you're not allowed to park in front of Dunkin' Doughnuts.
• Pennsylvania, USA, driving at night, you must stop every one mile (1.6 km) and fire signal flares to warn local residents of their presence. (wtf? I dont even...)
• In Pennsylvania If you spy on horses, you have to cover your car with a cover to blend into the scenery. If horses react, disassemble your car and hide parts.(Disassemble your car )
• In New Orleans it;s law that woman must have a man in front of the car with a warning flag if she is to drive.(Really?)
• In New Jersey you may not frown at a police officer.(lol)
• In Minneapolis it's illegal to go onto Lake Street while driving a red car.

Ummmm.. Replace the word car with horse and carriage and most of these do make sense, they are just old and forgotten laws.

Also honking someone else's horn is referring to passengers and the world record for cycling top speed is well over 100mph, though I think they are referring to motorbikes, even now motorbikes are still taxed as bicycles.

I live in Connecticut. Years ago they put one of those big radars that tell you how fast you're going next to our house on a steep road. Everyone in our neighborhood with a bike was trying to go the fastest they could. (Speed limit is 25 MPH) I think the record was 30 or something. I got 20 on my crappy bike. Then my younger brother fell off his dinky little bike and skidded on his face. (He got a free ambulance rid to the hospital!)

 

That's why speed limits are stupid. They make dumb kids fall off their bikes onto their faces.

Its also illegal to walk backwards on a Sunday in New York City. I have to wonder what kind of incident led to that law being necessary.
