It depends on where you live. $220 seems insanely expensive to me but it might be a good deal for you.

For not much more you could pick up a brand new 1660ti pretty sure the performance is pretty similar plus you get warranty then.

There's a new Gigabyte GTX 1070 WF3 8gb on New Egg for $300-330 dependin on when you find the sale.  It commonly goes out of stock due to high demand, but you can pick one up if you price snipe.  I got one for my g/f to use on my old gamin computer and it works quite well for 1080p 144Hz Ultra Settings.

AMD is worthless above their budget RX 570 due to price range impeding upon the far more efficient and better overall performance from NVIDIA.  RTX has issues w/memory, so that's a gamble at best and many people want perfected tech, which's why they're constantly sellin out and they're inflated in price higher than the actual RTX cards for their general performance equiv.  Super's are still yet to be tested in long term and the RTX 2080 Super hasn't been released as of yet.

It's a way to get mastered tech w/out the massively inflated price of the 1000 generation w/a full warranty.  There's a massive reason as to why people still buy both used and new GTX 1000 cards.

Ray tracing on anything under a RTX 2080 is abysmal (still not great on 2080/ti) and it's not even recommended by NVIDIA for anything below the RTX 2080, whatsoever.

In the uk they go for £250.

I have the MSI armor variant and atm I wouldn't sell for any less. But reassuring people I've not mined on it or run it hard and OD's for any length of time to get the price is not worth it.

I did and there's nothin for the $700+ area, since it's a washout.  Their blower style cards are also awful at heat dissipation, which's a major issue.  Most people that're knowledgeable are waitin for the aftermarket versions, so it doesn't cause issues.

This isn't a bash on AMD.  I want them to do well and I am impressed w/their progress. It's nice havin NVIDIA actually ahve to do somethin w/progress and price adjustment.  It'll be nice when Intel joins the graphics card point to assist w/even more competition and more rapid progress.

I'm not currently at the point I would use an AMD processor, but the next generation or the one after that I'd be willin to upgrade, easily; as long as they're comparable and/or better.  This bein said: I have built a basic web browsin/Microsoft Office computer for a family member, which works amazingly.

a vega 56 is 275usd right now and that's 15% faster or so iirc that puts the 1070 around 225-250, 33% used "discount" puts it at no more than 175. vega 56 is my rec, just avoid gigabyte.
