Buy now or wait?

Go to solution Solved by Dedayog,

The MSI Carbon is going to be low next week too, why not wait for it all?  We don't know how any of the B450 boards perform with Zen 2 fully yet.

Yes, get more RAM if you're hitting the limit.  Why wouldn't you?

Edit:  Then again, Tech YES City says buy all your parts now except for CPU and GPU...

Im planning to build a new PC for gaming and some video rendering (with Gopro Fusion Studio in Full hd to 2k/4k) for hobby.

But I want to save some money ,so Im waiting the Zen 2 release and benchmarks before buying a Zen+ or a Zen 2

I was wondering:

  1. Should I buy now a MSI B450 Carbon while the price is low or should I wait for the x570 mb(even tho it's expected to be 50-100$ more expensive)?

  2. I saw a rendering test on Fusion Studio and it showed that the Ram usage was reaching 16 GB( it was a 5.6K video).
Should I get a 16 GB or a 32 GB Ram Kit? (I have a RTX 2060, I know its not that powerful but the others GPUs were really expensive and over my budget)

    Thank you so much

Can't answer 1 but on 2 I'd get 16gb and another 16gb later if you are hitting the limit

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

If you plan on putting anything above a 6 core in your motherboard I would not get a b450. I would also like to point out that if the b450 you get doesn't have an updated bios you will be pretty shit out of luck because it wont run ryzen 3000 without an updated bios and you cant update the bios if it wont run.

Ok I got the Ram, and I went for the 32 GB cause the price now is at the lowest in the price history,I think it's the best time to get Memory sticks.( 137euros for 32GB while on January was almost the double 255 euros.)

For the CPU and Mobo ill wait the release on sunday hoping that the prices will not increase that much for the B450s, in case I'll choose Zen+ instead of Zen 2.
Thank you so much guys
