Refurbished laptops and hygeine

Does anyone know if refurbished laptops are cleaned at all, specifically open box/customer returns laptops?

 

I don't wanna get a laptop returned by some dude who used it for watching porn and touched it with his jizz hands.

really depends on where you get it from. whatever it is, invest in a can of compressed air and a bottle of rubbing alcohol to clean it. can never be too safe

Truly refurbed laptops should be cleaned as part of that process. I would not trust Amazon Warehouse to clean anything.

When I worked in retail, we did not clean shit. But on the other hand, per company policy we could not sell things like Open box Laptops unless it was the display model. This was done to protect data of the users. They did not want to be liable if some how someones data got out. So we ship those computers, Xbox's and Smart TV's back to the Vendor.

Presentation of product is independent to it's condition. All resellers should be cleaning their laptops prior to shipment, even the larger distributors such as Amazon Whether a laptop is cleaned, however, is as you'd expect dependant on the seller. In general, the more positive reviews on a seller the better your chances of a cleanly device. Contrary to Aisle's scepticism, Amazon workers are trained to provide the best possible service for customers. If you're concerned about the condition, maybe you could ask the seller for photos, and/or request the laptop to be thoroughly cleaned.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I ended up ordering it because the price was just too good to pass, and it arrived like new. No marks or anything. The only thing missing was the soft cover, etc you usually get. It was just inside the box in bubble wrap.

 

I still wiped it down with some disinfectant wipes just in case
