VirtualBox runs slow

I am using VirtualBox to run VMs both Linux and Windows guests on a Windows 10 host, but all my VMs seem to be quite slow and laggy. Do you know how can I speed them up or what is the problem? My drive? My CPU? My settings?

Thanks in advance!

what is slow? Is it just the gui. Run some disk/cpu benchmarks.

Is the guest extentions installed?

Also your on windows 10, why not use hyper-v?

- have a fixed virtual drive (assign a fixed space vs dynamic allocation)

- increase the core count + memory allocations.

- enable Virtualization in the bios.

Click, dragging and generally the responsiveness. Yes I have already install Guest Additions. I don't know how to use it really, is it any better?

try using rdp for the windows vms, is it any more responsive?

Hyper vs is pretty easier to use, and its more intergrated in windows.
