Which SSD to get?

I'm in the market for a SATA3 2.5inch 500gb SSD to upgrade my laptop.

Currently deciding between:

• Kingston A400
• Kingston UV500
• Samsung EVO 860 (currently the most expensive and least likely)
• Crucial MX500
• Crucial BX500
• WD Blue

I'm trying to keep the costs down. Does anybody know if the differences between the two Kingston drives are substantial?

 

Any pointers would be appreciated

Crucial MX500 is a good drive.

 

The a400 is the cheapest Kingston drive, so probably lowest quality, but i havent heard of the UV500.

Crucial MX500s are decent, I've used a few of them and never had a problem. Also look at the Adata S635 it's their newest model and I think it's even cheaper than the kingston a400 series while still being pretty good in terms of quality.

I didn't manage to find the S635, but did find the SU800. Also found the SU650, but there are no sellers of it on Amazon here in the UK.

 

I haven't really heard of Adata much before, how do you think their quality compares to Kingston or WD?

I have an A400 240 gb ssd never had a complaint. Its decently fast for the price but there are faster options. (I would recommend the A400.)

Adata, Samsung, Crucial MX.... used them all and they are all still working great.  

 

Just get what you can afford unless you have some cash to burn.

I personally have Adata drives in all my machine, cause i am cheap, and i have yet to have an issue, I am actually planing on buying another Adata today, honestly for the price, they can't be beat, sure they may fail a year or two down the line, but my oldest Adata is over 3 years old at this point and still working great.
