Quadro and GTX, same PC

I've got a GTX 780 and a Quadro K600.

 

I'd like to run the Quadro alongside my 780 and use it for NVENC encoding to take the load off of my 780 and hopefully fix my FPS problem while streaming. Problem is, I can't find much conclusive on the internet about running a Quadro and GeForce card in the same system.

 

I did find one thing that said if they're the same architecture, the odds of it working are higher. Both of my cards are Kepler-based, which got me wondering just how easily I could get the Quadro running alongside the 780.

 

Unless I'm crazy, the drivers for my 780 should theoretically work with the K600, right?

I think all the nvidia drivers are the same, and they change the features depending on the detected card. 

 

But if you have the hardware, you might aswell just test it.

Should work, Nvidia drivers are usually the same/similar especially for same generation cards.

aren't workstation drivers a bit different? You can just check what driver Nvidia's site recommends for the two cards and whether they are the same.

They are a little different. I don't need the full drivers for the K600 though, I just need it to be able to do NVENC encoding.

Then should try Geforce drivers. Workstation drivers dont have Geforce Experience stuff as far as I know which includes shadowplay. I guess it doesnt take away NVENC, but just in case it does...

Windows threw a hissy fit and wouldn't do anything with the K600 installed. Not sure if I should wipe drivers and then install K600..?

I would DDU then try the Creator Ready drivers.
