Which graphic card to get for 1440p60 High gaming?

realpetertdm

Hi all,

I'm planning to upgrade (current setup is god awful lol)

I have a LG Ultrawide 1440p 60Hz lying around so I want to play games on it.

I don't play a lot of AAA titles, I almost always play TF2* but I'm also looking to buy some new AAA titles.

I don't have a fixed budget yet but I'm looking at about 500~600 for a full budget (I only need to buy GPU, CPU, RAM and mobo)

Which GPU is good for 1440p60 gaming? (I'm also fine with 1080p)

I've had ppl recommend to me a RTX 2060 or a Vega 56

* TF2 is known to be more CPU oriented then GPU oriented

I think a 1660ti would do good.

I'm gonna go find my own tech support...

1660ti looks nice but 300... That's a bit expensive for my budget...

Would a RX 590 perform similar?

I've heard that an RX 590 is basically an Overkill RX 580. I would go with the 580 then. Maybe even a 570 but I'm not sure.

Preferably these two... 1660Ti can do it for now but no telling for how long, maybe a year or two in AAA games?. 1660 and RX 590 are even slower, so... again, good enough for now, not much life left.

Sounds about right. Looking at a RX 580 vs 590 BF5 bench it shows about a 3-5 fps average differece (1080p)

Yeah, RX 580 seems nice, and price is below 200 bucks. Thanks for the help

it will perform around 10 - 20% worse ,  most tripple a games cant be played on max with 1440 on a RX590.  What Luke said, the GTX 1660Ti would be good, but also the bottom line.

if you go medium on 1440p  an RX590 is good.

Yeah, RX 580 seems not enough for 1440p. Probably going to have to go with 1080p

Yeah... 300 is basically 50% of my budget. I don't think I can go with the 1660ti.

gtx1070 would do most games 60+ at 1440. i have a regular 1080 and does well above 150 in battlefield 4 maxed out

There is no enemy. The foe on the battlefield is merely the manifestation of that which we must overcome. The doubt, and fear, and despair. Every battle is fought within. Conquer the battlefield that lies inside you, and the enemy disappears like the illusion it is.
