Looking for a new monitor

Hello everyone,

I'm currently looking for a new monitor for a new system (Still using my old system at the moment). I'm looking for a 21" to a 24" monitor that are 1080p. While looking around I have found 2 monitors that stand out to me, but I'm unsure as to which I should get.

Monitor 1:

Acer 21.5" v226HQL Abd

  • Full 1080p   (Check)
  • DVI & HDMI (Check, HDMI for my Xbox 360 (don't hate me))
  • Between my tolerance of 21" - 24" (Check)
  • 8ms Response Time

Monitor 2:

LG 21.5" 22EA63V

  • Full 1080p   (Check)
  • DVI & HDMI (Check, HDMI for my Xbox 360 (again, don't hate me))
  • Between my tolerance of 21" - 24" (Check)
  • 5ms Response Time

Now as to WHY I can't decide.

The Acer monitor is a VA Panel and the LG monitor is an IPS Panel. Which one is the better, ie: produce the best looking image.?The graphics card I'm looking at is the Gigabyte GTX 760 2GB Windforce edition. (Link: http://goo.gl/c4kXtF).

don't want to use a TN panel because I don't like the viewing angels. As for gaming, I tend to play a lot of Batman AC and AA (Looking to start AO soon), also a fair bit of Minecraft with a high res texture pack, and some BF3 (Looking to get BF4 soon as well)

If you can find a better monitor then please leave your suggestion and a link.

(My budget is £100 - £125 max)

Thanks ever so much for all of your help.

Get the LG monitor, I have 2 LG 23" ea63v, getting a 3rd in 2 weeks, and planning on buying more for my other setups.

They look amazing, colors are perfect and its nice and bright, but not too bright, looks awesome in the day and night.

I got LG 23ea63v £130 from Currys/PC World. -

Since finding this monitor, I haven't even bothered looking at any other monitors, because everything about this one is brilliant.

Only downside is the stand, if you knock the monitor it will wobble, but its not too bad.

I would go for the IPS panel blindfolded, it will give great video quality with hardly any adjusting and it even has a lower response time.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨
