For the past 3 weeks i have been worried about my pc underperforming as i really dont feel like im getting the frames i should be getting normally in some games. This pc is a new one i bought 3 weeks ago the one before it couldnt even run gta story mode smoothly now i can run in smoothly with the new pc but gta online i get alot of frame drops like 50 fps sometimes 55fps just no what you would expect from a pc like this. Also i downloaded far cry new dawn i tried it  on ultra with aa off and i mean i get stutters where like my game is running smooth then it freezes for a second then comes back. I have monitored fc new dawn with msi afterburner and i got 90% gpu usage and 45% cpu temps for gpu when gaming is usually 60 to 65 and cpu 65 to 70 sometimes when i have had the pc open for a long time it reaches 75 but thats a rare case scenario. This "underperforming" thing is honestly sickening and i need help with it so here are my specs

Specs : GTX 1660 ti driver version 430.86
ryzen 5 2400G
16gb ballistix sport ram ddr4 clocked @3000mhz

1x samsung 970 evo plus m.2 (boot drive)   1x intel 520 series ssd   1x caviar green hdd(GTA and Far cry installed on hdd)
thermaltake 500w psu ( comes with commander ms-ii chasis)
thermaltake commander ms-II chasis
windows 10 pro 64bit version 1803
GIGABYTE B450M GAMING MOTHERBOARD BIOS Version F1

Note: My older pc had a gtx 1050 ti  i3 4150 and 8gb ram and on my new pc i still get the same frames on gta online not on story mode though

Thanks in advance!

If you want to install a previous Nvidia driver, you must disable the Internet connection then DDU, then install the driver that you want and then unable Internet

Temps?

Maybe you thermal throttling?

Try these two things, first, check your entire PC for any type of virus or malware. Secondly, bring up your task manager and see if anything is running in the background hogging CPU or GPU usage.

Buy legitimate copies so you don't end up with random shit.

i use ccleaner to clean my pc almost everyday

How about an antivirus? Ccleaner is just for tidying storage and arguably half-useless. You might even be regularly clearing out temporary files your games are using, forcing them to waste resources on redoing work they shouldn't have to.

So what kind of FPS the comparable systems you have looked up and are comparing yours to are getting? If you honestly just feel like you're not getting enough FPS, the right move is to buy faster Internet and faster PC. The single-core performance improvement between your old Intel and new AMD is rather small, might even be marginal in some programs. GPU can only pick up so much slack, and if you also bumped resolution up, that might be where most of it went.

Strain from singleplayer and multiplayer aren't comparable, online is usually particularly more CPU heavy. Running any games from a green HDD is just plain bad idea, especially online games. If you're sure nothing thermal throttles (watch clockspeeds, not temps), it's likely that spinning rust is what's ruining your experience.

We need data. Benchmarks. Screenshots. But first of all, stop playing off of an "energy efficient", ancient HDD. It'll mess you up in all the possible and improbable ways.

ok for internet i cant upgrade now. for hdd i will upgrade soon i will try my best. for anti virus i scanned my whole pc with windows defender and i am ok. i used the same resolution on my older pc yet i still see the same fps on gta online but i noticed that the games that i have good fps on are on the ssd so i will try putting far cry on my ssd and see if anything is better also i3 4150 compared to ryzen 5 2400g is a big upgrade your talking about upgrading from a 2 core 4 thread cpu to a 4 core 8 thread cpu obviously there has to be atleast a slight increase in fps right? @tatte

Ok so i tried fc new dawn on my m.2 ssd and boy did it make a difference. So when i had the game on the hdd when i launched it it would stay around 20 fps for 2 minutes and then my fps comes back but it drops alot but on the ssd my fps is steady 70 to 80 not a single drop so my guess if i put gta on ssd it will first of all load faster and perform better @tatte
