Best headphones for around 100 dollars

sperkowsky

Ok so I'm looking for new headphones

I want them for general gaming and editing.

These are going to be used in conjunction with my blue snowball so I do not need.

I do have a good relationship with sennheiser (done some review work for them) and I may be able to get a deal on a pair of them.

Also if possible if the headphones are cheaper maybe give me a

Suggestion on something to power them better like a USB dac or something(not an audio guy)

I'm selling my beats solos for them (yes I know they are a peice of crap learned the hard way)

if you can get the 558's, they are a great choice. However, if you're a basshead, I'd rather go with the M50's out of those two. The Sennheisers are really comfortable though, so right now, I'd rather go with the 558's. or the 518's if the 558's are a little out of reach, supposedly they sound very similar.

Reviews: JBL J33i   M50s   SRH440   Soundmagic PL50

going with the 558s I'm not bass head I mean I like bass but I usually don't listen that much to music and in gaming I found it's better to have overall clean sound. Besides I have a good relationship with sennheiser from YouTube so I will probably get a good deal on them

hd558 are nice, you can remove the tape in the ear cups to make them sound pretty damn similar to the hd598s, same drivers/etc

I still prefer my fischer fa003 clones or cals for the 0-200 range, I do own the hd558s,

I rotate my headphones bi weekly to appreciate their uniqueness, but as that being stated everything is subjective my ears isnt yours

The Sony MDR-V6 are an awesome pair for under $100 (usually around 85) particularly for editing/audio work, and even for gaming. That being said, I'm very partial to ATH-M50's (for bass) or Sennheiser HD558's (for comfort) in 'approximately' that price range. AKG K 240's are also 'ok' in that price range. I've had limited experience with them and I hear their quality isn't what it used to be, but good for the price.

I see you made your choice, GOOD CHOICE! :)
