Anyone who knows about rgb channels/dmx

So this question is most likely silly to someone who knows their stuff but here I am.
I have my case outfitted with Alseye fans from Asia, the controller that came with it claims "6 channels"
They offer another rgb controller that claims "14 channels".
Upon trying to google the difference I learnt dmx controllers usually have 512 channels and can support 170 leds each.
So what is the difference in support between the 6 and 14 channel controller.
Each one has 10 fans + 2 rgb strips support but neither list the support of the strips length/amount of leds it can run and i need to know
