Aio or air cooler for ryzen 2600?

I have option of cm ml240l, corsair h80i or thermaltake 3.0 in aio

And the only high end option in air cooling is nh d15. But the issue is my case only supports upto 160mm max cpu cooler height. What would be best option for me? The temperatures are pretty high here 38-40+°C in summers so will aio be better or the liquid evaporates sooner? Because mostly I will be using it for gaming 4-5hours a day?

Well considering it’s a closed loop evaporation will be nihil. Does your room also get to that temp or you have A/C?

people always recommend the noctua DH15 as well as the dark rock pro 4 when it comes to air coolers.

they perform the same as 360mm rads apparently (still don’t know how lol) - it’s also a aesthetics thing having an aio (I love them)

If you're not overclocking, a decent air cooler is plenty. Doesn't have to be the D15. I'm running a D9L on my 2600, although ambient here rarely exceeds 30C.

Gaming system: R7 7800X3D, Asus ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming Wifi, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE ARGB, Corsair Vengeance 2x 32GB 6000C30, RTX 4070, MSI MPG A850G, Fractal Design North, Samsung 990 Pro 2TB, Acer Predator XB241YU 24" 1440p 144Hz G-Sync + HP LP2475w 24" 1200p 60Hz wide gamut
Productivity system: i9-7980XE, Asus X299 TUF mark 2, Noctua D15, 64GB ram (mixed), RTX 3070, NZXT E850, GameMax Abyss, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB, random 1080p + 720p displays.
Gaming laptop: Lenovo Legion 5, 5800H, RTX 3070, Kingston DDR4 3200C22 2x16GB 2Rx8, Kingston Fury Renegade 1TB + Crucial P1 1TB SSD, 165 Hz IPS 1080p G-Sync Compatible

even when overclocking the 2600 doesnt get very hot. he could most likely run a Freezer 33/34 esports with no problems

Stock turbo is 3.9 all cores and the stock cooler can't sustain that. With the D9L I was getting 4.2 easily, 4.25 at a stretch and temps were what I'd consider not something I'd like 24/7. Something like a DRP4 or D14, maybe D12 would probably be sufficient, especially if we consider OP's statement about high ambient temps in summer.

not on the 2600. if so, that would be XFR 2 playing

it should drop below 3,8 when more threads are loaded. something the stock cooler can do. though OC results are mixed using the stock cooler. as its not amazing for overclocking.

a larger aircooler would certainly be ideal. temps in the 60s should be interpreted as in the 80s during summer.

I see 3.9 all cores if I have a good cooler, and I don't if I have stock cooler. From memory sustained clocks dropped as far as 3.6 on stock cooler. For normal users they'd never notice this, but if I'm going to run a CPU, it's 100% sustained and cooling makes a difference.

it makes some difference. for people who cant buy a cooler and does rendering, it could very much be worth pinning the fan at 100%.

Room temps are about 30-32 if I don't turn the AC on .

The aio costs less here as compared to Noctua coolers. So that is why I am considering them but my main concern is the life span of aio and leaking problem( if they have any)

All noctua fans cost me 20-40$ more then the above mentioned aio coolers.

You dont need to buy Noctua only. Bequiet is a very good alternative.
