Is there anyway to make a folder public?

Ive made a new user account on my computer and i wonder if i can simply make any folder i want on both users public so that i can access the same folders from both user?

Security tab in the folder properties. Be mindful of the folders up the tree too- sometimes it doesn't "just work" in 10 lately. You can also just share them over the network, oddly you can just browse to a share on the same computer almost easier, and that adds the benefit of anyone with a login on the network having access as well- make sure they enable network discovery there.

In this case, yes, @Syntaxvgm has the listed method built into Windows.

Right click the folder(s), navigate to the security tab, under "group or user names", hit "edit", and add the account(s) to the list, administrator privlidges will be necessary. Modify the permissions if needed.

Locally windows already has a public folder to share stuff between users on the PC. Otherwise just change the permissions to add local users.

 

Better alternative is to buy a NAS if you have more than one PC, then it’s always on. Cheap AIO units will do like the WD MyCloud or Seagate Personal Cloud.

 

If you want to share it outside your PC might be better to use a cloud hosting service. You can then share hyperlinks directly to the folder and even password them if you need.

If the new account has admin privileges then you should not have to do any changes at all. Admins has access to essentially all files on a system by default, including files from other users.
