Ubisoft takes the next step in killing game keys, enter silent key activation

Bouzoo

all fine and good, but i couldn't buy two copies of ghost recon for me and my brother with the same account on GreenManGaming (separate uplay accounts). The solution was another GMG account which is far from ideal.

GPU drivers giving you a hard time? Try this! (DDU)

So it's basically the second-hand market they want to kill?

No because once activated, you cannot resell digital games anyway. I would love to sell off like 90% of my Steam library as "used" games. You just cannot do that. The only second hand markets that still exist are on console.

The only thing this combats is the grey market sites like G2a, Kingwin, Greenmangaming, etc. where people buy / obtain shady UNACTIVATED keys in bulk, and then sell them at a profit.

Good development in my opinion. Developers deserve to get paid for their hard work developing games. And sites like G2A are grey market at best, and straight up illegal at worst. Also scammers flourish on these types of websites. I would not shed even a tiny tear if they all went away.

It's not "keyless", it's just that user doesn't see the key. Transaction still uses it. Key, serial number, transaction ID, whatever you want to call it. It's still happening behind the scenes.

Well that is the point. Keyless as in the user doesn't see the key.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

That is one of big questions. Maybe an email invite? Direct uplay inv? I am sure they thought of that.

It is more likely they weren't, allowing that would mean loss to them....

Also RIP Humble Bundle... :D

You seem to care enough to have the need to leave such comment.

Humble already has SKA implemented a long time ago for (at least) both Steam and Ushi..Uplay. IIRC Humble doesn't even give Ush...Uplay keys.

There's also button on the right that says "redeem" which uses their SKA to redeem the key on Steam.

E: nope, just auto pastes the key to the Steam webpage redeeming. But for Us...Uplay they use SKA.
