Partition disappeared on Win7

ringo

My friend has strange problem. When he turned on PC his D partition was missing, only C is visible (one hard drive). In disk management there is only C partition and D partition is represented as 518Gb free space. I can only select New simple volume option. System restore is not possible because it was turned off. Is there a way to revive that partition and restore data from her?

Look for some programs to restore deleted partitions. I cannot recommend any specific one, but in this case download and check is the only option.

My college from work can give me GetDataBack program. I think I read somewhere when you restore deleted files that it must be on another partition and not on restoring partition. Problem is that my friend only have active now C partition that is 80GB. So is it wise to first create simple volume on that D partition (probably quick format) and restore files directly on that partition?

No way! Find program that can restore deleted partitions, not files!

I found few tools for that in few seconds using google:

https://www.easeus.com/partition-recovery/index.htm

https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk

http://findandmount.com/

Try some of them or find better.

Thank you, I will try that!!!
