Is it a good upgrade?

Judg3

I still have the Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 960 G1 Gaming 4096Mb Graphics Card and looking to upgrade to the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 OC 6GB Graphics Card, will this be a good upgrade or must I reconsider?

My other components;

AMD RYZEN 5 1600X Processor

1 x Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK8GX4M1D3000C16, 8GB, DDR4-3000

ASUS PRIME A320M-K motherboard

2 SSDs

535W Bronze Modular PSU

What is your budget? If able to stretch it a bit, you could get a 1660ti instead. Though you might also want to consider getting another stick of 8GB DDR4.

what model of that psu? i would want to sell that mobo and replace it tbh and another stick of ram. the upgrade is kinda a waste except for some workloads that will get the benefit of that new stuff NVIDIA bringing out with that series

Where I live the difference between the 1660 and 1660TI is $98,38 and I'm not willing to pay THAT much extra...

I can tell it's my GPU holding me back. I do not even use 100% of my RAM most of the time. I bought the motherboard because of its form factor.

well, how about the used market? there is a lot Micro ATX board (maybe you like the aesthetics). you can oc the 1660 to be a 1660 Ti, but that windforce model is so bad.

1660/1660 Ti is a great upgrade from 960.

Ryzen love dual channel + fast RAM with tight latency for gaming.
