How much ram?

I’m building my dad a ryzen build for his business and I’m wondering how much ram he will need. He’s gonna be using chrome usually having upwards of 20 tabs open, he uses excel, and a few other assorted programs he uses to keep track of his business finances. It’s gonna be a Windows 10 system if that matters. Should he get 8gb of ram or 16gb ?

I would think 8GB should be fine, unless he has some real intense websites and spreadsheets open.

Most of the spreadsheets he has open have a lot of information.

I'd def go 16gb. Win10 and chrome can chew through ram like there's no tomorrow and it's always better to have too much instead of not enough.

Then you might want to spring for 16gb. I still think 8 is fine, but...

My friend's fairly good PC has 16GB, he can keep 30+ tabs and 2 Excel sheets open having like 0.2GB left...I'm pretty sure 8GB will be fine, but 16GB would be better.
