Use the Windows Update Troubleshooter (Start > Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Windows Upate). Once done. Restart your PC, and try the update again.

Press the windows key and type "cmd" look for the command line and select "run as administrator"

Enter this:

net stop wuauserv
cd %Windir%\SoftwareDistribution
del /f /s /q Download
net start wuauserv

Try to rerun the updates.

Can you try the update again, and when it fails then paste the relevant part of C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log here (maybe paste it in pastebin.com and link it here)

There are logs, its just in the most recent revision of Windows 10 they're saved as ETL files in C:\Windows\Logs\WindowsUpdate - so you have to run Get-WindowsUpdateLog in powershell to generate a readable WindowsUpdate.log from them...but at least its fixed, so no need to do troubleshooting anymore.
