280mm AIO mounting location

compupertortoise

I haven't changed thermal paste in a while and was planning to it soon. My CPU is getting little toasty, but not by a lot. I have i7-8700k @4,7 GHz and volts are at AUTO. GPU is 1070 TI with +100Mhz on core and +400Mhz on memory. My current cooling setup looks like this (not my pic):

I was thinking maybe I should put the AIO rad at top of the case and fans in front. The fans would do a better job feeding cool air in as the case is pretty restricted, plus rad is now in the way at the front. The rad would have more air to work with on the top. Liek this:

Correct me if I'm wrong or give me some advice please! :)

i'd go with second pic so gpu wont have to intake in warm air.

Do pic #2 so your GPU is breathing fresh air, if you go with pic #1 you'll be dumping the hot air from the CPU into the case, then adding the GPU heat ontop.

Pic 2 will exhaust the hot air directly out of the top of the case.

Okay thanks for your input.

On the other note, I did some researching and got the idea that leaving CPU voltage at AUTO could produce some unnecessary heat compared to manually setting them correct value?

I had it setup to bring in cool air from outside and dump it on my rad, but that increases your GPU temp your CPU temp and your case temp.  So I quickly put it to exhaust on top and my fans in sig blowing at the radiator and push air out.. Sorta a top exhaust. bringing outside air remember will amek things dusty and your radiator and fans will look like crap.  The best is PIC 2 ,,,,, that is how Im setup and look at my voltage. She runs 50's and 60's c when gaming.  :)
