Zotac geforce 1060 repairable?

Captivated78

My daughter got into my office and while playing ripped the cord from my oculus rift headset out of the brand new 1060 graphics card breaking the hdmi port. Is there a way to repair this port? Can I send it off to be repaired? Trying to figure out my options before buying a new card.

if you're good with a soldering gun, you can maybe try replacing the HDMI port. though you can probably just use another port.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

That card only comes with 1 HDMI. Just use DisplayPort or DVI, or use DisplayPort to HDMI adapter to your monitor if your monitor doesn't have DP/DVI

The HDMI output is going to his Oculus Rift, and not to a monitor.

What you said should work, though -- DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter.

I'm sure someone can fix it, I'm not entirely sure whom but I bet Louis Rossman could, one of his employees, or they would be able to suggest someone who could.

I dont think paying to fix it is a wise option,

what if they charge you $50~100 for repairing a $200 card, you got to account for transportation cost too

Fair point, I'm sure whomever would be able to quote prior to repair if you could get decent photos of it for them. Honestly it's possibly the kind of thing I could fix but I don't want to break it more, I'd only attempt the fix if I owned it myself. It would be a great excuse to get that hot air reflow station I've always wanted.

I seriously would recommend you to contact the seller and check if they can cover it within the warranty period.

Can I send it off to be repaired?

In case of sending it off, I wouldn't.
I would find a local PC repair shop, and ask the charges for replacing the HDMI port.
If it's under $10 dollars (or somwhere in the range), I would give it for repair.
Otherwise, like others said, I'd buy DisplayPort to HDMI adapter.
